The Harmon Youth (Harmony) Lab is dedicated to supporting youth mental health and is led by Dr. Sherelle Harmon, an Assistant Professor in Psychology Department at the Florida State University.
Our mission is to bridge scientific research and real-world clinical care through innovative, translational research. We focus on emotional and behavioral regulation and study common childhood conditions - including anxiety, depression, irritability, ADHD, and disruptive behaviors - by examining the core regulatory and neurocognitive mechanisms that drive their development, persistence, and response to treatment. Rather than examining diagnoses in isolation, we take a transdiagnostic, mechanism-focused approach to identify shared processes that contribute to symptom overlap and clinical complexity. By linking these mechanisms to assessment and treatment processes, our work seeks to translate scientific insights into more precise, effective, and evidence-based clinical practices.

Childhood Anxiety and Depression Study
The Harmony Youth Lab at Florida State University is recruiting families for a research study focused on how childhood anxiety and depression are assessed and treated. Children ages 8–12 who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or other emotional or mood-related concerns may be eligible to participate. Participating families will receive a comprehensive diagnostic assessment, and eligible families may also receive evidence-based therapy. All study services are provided at no cost, and families will receive compensation for follow-up assessments. Participation involves in-person visits at Florida State University.
