Dr. Shermeeka Hogans-Mathews, M.D., FAAFP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Rural Health at Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine. An alumna of FSU College of Medicine, she earned her medical degree in 2015 and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society during her studies. Dr. Hogans-Mathews has a strong interest in behavioral health, focusing her residency research on perinatal mood disorder screening and early identification in primary care. Her clinical and research interests encompass trauma-informed research on Adverse Childhood Experiences and life course adversity in health disparate communities. In 2025, she was selected as a Fellow in the Association of Departments of Family Medicine Leadership Education for Academic Development and Success.
