Dr. Angelina Sutin
Professor, Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine
College of Medicine
Dr. Sutin’ program of research focuses on psychological and social factors that contribute to risk of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and the mechanisms through which these factors increase risk or promote resilience across every stage of disease. Her NIH-funded research projects include (1) the interplay between personality traits and cognitive function across the lifespan, (2) midlife cognitive aging in Latinx populations, and (3) the daily dynamics of personality and ambulatory cognition. Dr. Sutin also has a second line of research on the short and long-term health correlates of weight stigma.
