Ursula Weiss, PhD
Dr. Ursula Keller Weiss is the Director of the Network for Clinical Research, Training, and Community Engagement (NCRT-CE) and a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine at the Florida State University (FSU) College of Medicine. Dr. Weiss leads the FSU Community Engagement Leaders Committee and co-leads the Community Engagement Core of the FSU-UF Clinical and Translational Science Award. She has held previous leadership positions in various public and private health sectors, including the Florida Department of Health, the Agency for Health Care Administration, and Mount Sinai Medical Center.
As Director of NCRT-CE, Dr. Weiss oversees consultation and services of clinical and translational research and community engagement activities for the FSU College of Medicine. She also supports the translational research activities associated with the University of Florida–Florida State University Clinical and Translational Science Award at FSU. A key focus is on rural health, minority and underserved populations, health equity, and community-engaged research.
Dr. Weiss has bachelor’s degrees in International Affairs and Political Science/Sociology with honors and a master’s and Ph.D. in Sociology with a concentration in Demography and Population Health from Florida State University.
