Abbey is a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) and a Florida Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist. In addition to clinical practice, Abbey works in primary care for Dr. John Ness as part of his interdisciplinary team of providers that serves patients from all surrounding counties. Abbey is also a member of the Exam Development Council for the Board for Certification of Nutrition Specialists - her national credentialing agency. Abbey graduated from FSU College of Human Sciences, Department of Nutrition, Food and Exercise Science with her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nutrition and Food Science. During her studies, Abbey had the opportunity to study neuroscience, and the effects of polyphenols on osteoarthritis and osteoporosis and has an interest in researching flavonoid biochemistry to cannabis and pain. As part of her role in the iRACE lab, Abbey’s primary function is to assist in essential research related functions of the iRACE program, including data collection, entry, and analysis, study protocol development, creation of study materials, grant proposal preparation, and monitor/investigate/track communications and other regulatory duties as assigned.
